Our engagement approach honors Navajo sovereignty and governance structures, using existing community institutions and multiple culturally appropriate methods to ensure every community has access to the planning process.


  • Chapter-Level Meetings

    Project introductions, updates, and community feedback at planning and regular chapter meetings. Collaboration with Community Land Use Planning Committees to align with existing land use plans.

  • Grazing & Producer Forums

    Coordination with grazing officials, land board members, permittees, and farm boards to discuss rangeland management, livestock concerns, water use, and sustainable farming strategies.

  • Regional Council Sessions

    Participation in council delegate regional meetings and agency regional council meetings to ensure alignment with legislative oversight and cross-district coordination.

  • Digital Engagement

    Plan website with public comment portal, social media engagement, upcoming events, and sign up for updates.

  • Scoping Meetings

    Comprehensive scoping meetings across all 24 council delegate districts, combining education about the ARMP and EIS with substantive community input collection.

  • Draft Review & Final Presentation

    Public review of the draft ARMP and EIS with formal comment periods, followed by final plan presentations explaining how community input shaped the plan.
