Welcome!

Thank you for taking a few minutes to share your feedback on the I-25 & Weld County Road 38 Interchange Project. The Town of Mead and the project team are currently studying a new interchange to improve safety, manage traffic congestion, and provide better access for our community.

Your input is a critical part of this process and will help us select the best possible solution for Mead's future. This survey should take approximately 5-7 minutes to complete.

Section 1: About You

Understanding who we're hearing from helps us better analyze the feedback. All responses are anonymous.

What is your connection to the project area? (Please select all that apply)
How often do you typically travel on WCR 38 near I-25?

Section 2: Project Goals

The project team has identified four primary reasons, or "needs," for building a new interchange. Please tell us how important each of these goals is to you.

The project aims to prevent future gridlock and dangerous backups onto I-25 as our region's population grows.
Manage Future Congestion:
The project aims to reduce emergency response times and provide a reliable new connection across I-25, which currently acts as a barrier.
Improve Access & Emergency Response:
The project aims to reduce the potential for crashes, particularly congestion-related rear-end collisions, for all users.
Enhance Safety:
The project aims to provide a safe and convenient way for pedestrians and bicyclists to cross I-25, connecting to planned local and regional trails.
Connect Our Community:

Section 3: Interchange Alternatives

The project team has studied numerous designs and narrowed them down to three final alternatives. Please review the simple diagrams and descriptions below before answering the following questions.

Alternative OPtions
  • Alternative A: Standard Diamond
  • A traditional and familiar interchange design with on- and off-ramps in all four corners.
  • Alternative B: Folded Diamond
  • Similar to a standard diamond, but two of the ramps are "folded" into the same corner to reduce the overall footprint and potential impacts on adjacent properties.
  • Alternative C: Diverging Diamond (DDI)
  • An innovative design where traffic temporarily crosses to the left side of the road. This improves safety and traffic flow by eliminating left turns that have to cross in front of oncoming traffic.
Having reviewed the three alternatives, do you have an initial preference?

Please share any specific comments or concerns you have about any of the interchange designs.

    Section 4: Your Priorities

Your feedback will help us strike a balance between the various aspects of the project.

When selecting a final design, which of the following factors is MOST important to you? (Please rank the following from 1 to 5, where 1 is the most important)

    Selection - 1) Most Important
    Selection - 2) 2nd Most Important
    Selection - 3) 3rd Most Important
    Selection - 4) Important
    Selection - 5) Least Important

    Section 5: Final Thoughts

Do you have any other comments, questions, or concerns you would like to share with the project team?

Thank you for your time and valuable input!
